The essential guide to the biggest Atari event of the year


The biggest event in the Atari scene this year will be the Atari Shows. Organised by Mike Goodman, they will be the place to go to meet other Atari owners and find out about new and exciting products to be released over the coming year.


Where do I go?

There are two shows, one on Saturday 28th September in Birmingham and the other on Sunday 29th September in London.

What can I do there?

No matter which Atari you own or what you use your system for, you'll be able to find something to suit you. Major exhibitors like System Solutions and HiSoft will be demostrating their latest programs and you'll be able to find out about releases over the coming year.

Games players are catered for with companies like 16/32 Systems, Merlin and The Console Center. You'll be able to pick up some bargains in ST, Falcon and Jaguar games and all of the latest releases will be available to buy.

If you're looking for new hardware you could do a lot worse that to visit The Upgrade Shop and Titan Designs, they'll be showing and selling many exciting upgrades for your Atari system from Hard Drives to Graphics Cards and Accelerators.

For any other bits and bobs try visiting Best Electronics they stock anything from replacement badges to capacitors. PD and Shareware is catered for too with Goodmans International, FaST Club and Merlin.

User Groups are going to be there in force lead by the UK Association of Atari User Groups. You can pick up the latest issue of AtariPhile and you'll be able to obtain the first issue of the new Atari Computing. You'll also be able to browse the Virtual Web - a collection of Atari related Internet pages and Disk Magazines including The Atari Times.
