'-----' '-----' This is a little demo for the Atari Lynx, shown at the Error in Line convention easter 2003 in Dresden/Germany. >> 2. place intro competition << Release date: 14.5.2003 All rights belong to the author! (c) Björn Spruck 2003 ::Copying:: You might spread and copy this demo freely, as long as this archive and this text file stay "as-they-are". Selling it is strictly forbidden! You can burn it to ROM for your personal use. But selling the burned ROM is an illegal act. This is a special message to some companies, which dont care about copyrights. (I think you know which I mean!) ::Competition:: It was planed to put this demo into the wild-compo. But as there was a 8bit competition planed, I changed to that. At deadline I was told by No/Escape, that there was only one other entry for the 8bit compo and a agreed to put Lynx Reloaded into the intro-compo. And yes, this demo is smaller than 96kb. Have a look into the binary. Everything beyond 92kb is zeros. ::Running:: This demo is meant to run on the real hardware. This means, running on the HANDY emulator might lead to some "unwanted" effects. There are some problems with the sprite-engine emulation. This is visible in the 3d-part. Also, the music sounds kind of strange. ::Coding:: The demo was done in a very very short time. Most of it was done at the convention itself. There was never the time to work on design. And yes, this demo really lacks design. I had problems getting a music file which fits into to small Lynx memory together with the effect screens. At last I had to take the only one which fits into around 19kb. Grafic was a similar problem, as I am a very untalented painter. Most of the GFX was done by Flash/TNB during the convention. This demo was created using the BLL Kit of Bastian Schick and Lars Baumstark. ::Grafix:: The credit and endpart picture use more than 16 colors. Normally, the Lynx can only show 16 colors at once. It is possible, to show up to 4096 colors on screen with some dirty tricks. You can see some more examples of that on my homepage and inside the "CGE Slideshow" cartridge i made for Songbird last year. ::Musix:: The MOD player was originally written by Duranik and was slighly modified to save some CPU time. ::ROM:: If there is enough interest, I can make some ROM Cartridges, including a BLL Loader, this demo and some bonus stuff. Perhaps even including some simple games.
