It was long time promised and here it comes *at last* : the UCM mini shell or the follow up to my Article Construction Kit as I call it :) Indeed my small tutorial will still beó neededð as this shell should only allow you to check your article and modify it if needed. You will also be able to have a direct preview of the font, colors or pictures added to your article ! You'll also find enclosed the update to my Article Construction Kit. Please read it carefully. ñ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First of all,ò *NEVER*ð remove or rename the files included in this mini shell folder ! Without one of them the shell should crash ! Here is the list of the files you should find in this package : ò 1.TAO (first chip, tao's format) ò 2.TRI ò 2.TVS (second chip, ssd format) ò 3.TRI ò 3.TVS (third chip, ssd format) ò AUTOPLAY.MOD (Falcon module) ó STARTPIC.PI1 (cover pic) ó MENU_GFX.PI1 (shell gfx and font) ó MENUTEXT.TXT (this page :) ó HELPTEXT.TXT (help and shell credits) ó SHELL.PRG (guess what :) Though the shell gfx (to be used by willing gfxmen :) looks rough, it is fully functional as long as all files can be found. ñ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ò Steps to the testing of an article 1. Report to my Article Tutorial which is also included in this archive to know how you can add colors, headlines and pictures 2. Save your file as test.txt and make sure it is in òTHISð folder 3. Run the shell and click on the test line, that's it !!! ñ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ñ THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE MENU LINK Though it doesn't appear when you run the shell.prg, there is of course an instruction set in the "test zone" that indicates the name and location of the article to be loaded. You can easily identify a link as your cursor changes shape to a "target". Thinking it would be easier for you, I have labelled it as test.txt but If you want to test several articles at once you can easily change the menu content. 1. Add as many menu lines as needed, eg : first test ........................ second test ....................... etc. 2. the instruction to load your text appears after the 80th column of your line, that's why you cannot see it on your screen (you can check that with any word processor). Unfortunately this instruction cannot be seen here as it is ódirectlyð translated into a UCM command. I suggest you simply run any word processor, have a look at the "click here to view your article" line ó(after column 80 !!)ð and change the filename. Never forget the opening bracket and other elements ! first test ...................>> after column 80 >> test 1 name second test ..................>> after column 80 >> test 2 name etc. 3. If you followed step 1 and 2 carefully, it should work fine :) but remember to place the loading instruction after the 80th column please. ñ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- óGo for it now and reach me for any questions or comments at larnac@hotmail.com
