EPHIDRENA gave you: ATARI BEHN at mekka symphosium 2002 requires: Atari Falcon 100Hz VGA ONLY! (dont kill your monitor...) 14 meg memory and a harddrive :) The Credits goes like: Code: NervE & Earx Gfx & Anims: Stoney Msx: Frequent Player: Exaplayer And now some information for you...... For the first time, we give you a non Amiga production. Surprised? The usual trend for Amiga groups have been to make pc demos, but we do different and makes a new demo on a SLOWER machine, not faster :) (Ok, ok DSP is fast, but not so flexible or?) Anyway, NervE has been coding Atari for years without any graphicans or musicans to support him. Now finally, with support from the active guys in Ephidrena things have changed and we can finally present something. Most of the codework are done by NervE, except the smoke routine, done by Earx. Almost all work done on Atari Falcon :) All music developed by Frequent basically on Amiga, with some adjustments on Falcon for making everything work correctly. Stoney drew all anims and textures on his amy,. The anims was a bit more problematic to convert to Atari than we thought, but everything got solved in the end. Sadly this demo ended up being a bit bigger than planned, since the anims got bigger in ran format than planned.... (170k in animX on amiga ended as 5meg ran). We promise to release a fixed verion shortly wich is smalled than this one. It will even give you some improved effects (sorry Earx). Greetings: All we know, all who enjoys our demos, all we have met, spoken to, forgot we have met, whatever, whenever, wherever, etc. etc..... And now some words from NervE: I would like to thank God, for putting up with me. Then i would like to thank my wonderful girlfriend Hanne, for also putting up with me, esp. during the last few weeks! Coding is a time consuming task. Thanks to Earx for making us a screen on such short notice. And thanks to Ephidrena for helping me find my way back to the scene and to the ms party! Also thanks to Evil for his demo-os, which i did not use, but found alot of useful info in. And thanks to those who didnt believe in me for motivating me to finally make a release! There are still bugs and some pretty weird hacks in the code, but i'll sort it all out in the fixed version... The demo has only been tested on our two Falcons, and they are both 24Mhz. We dont know if it will work on any other hardware, but it should. The animation sequences may mess up the timing some places on different cpu speeds, but it should all be solved in the fixed version. I will probably also release my source code along with it. Ok, so the DSP is flexible, i'm just not man enough to venture out into the land of risc asm... ;) Cya next year, or hopefully sooner! btw: we really miss the rest of the Atari scene. Big up! to MC Laser and those who attended!! Let's try again next year, shall we? Frequents words: Hello there! Making music on Falcon was quite much the same as making it on Amiga. Still, all machines got its own accent. But I miss a real softsynth for it. Lets hope Ace tracker will make the nice bird more attracktive :) But I think atarisceners have to socialice a bit more. Sitting at the same spot at MS2K2, wont help. You have to spread yourself around abit more! Anyway i think i will sign off now. Planet Potion Rules! We guess that was it. Future plans? Something Zerox never will find out :) Ephidrena 2002
