Mummies Playtime is basically an Edutainment game aimed at children around ten years old.

It is a collection of four fairly different games - Choo Choo Shoe Shoot, Bangman, Go Troll and Chase the Troll.

Choo Choo Shoe Shoot

A kiddy version of Operation Wolf!. The aim is to shoot the men and shoes which appear in the windows of a train.

This can be quite hard - even for experienced games players - due mainly to the fact that before you get a chance to get the mouse pointer to the target, you've already been shot!

Choo Choo Shoe Shoot is a useful game which should help your child to get to grips with the mouse. It can become frustrating, but after a bit of practice shooting the baddies becomes second nature.

Bangman

It's Hangman with a difference - instead of hanging the poor bloke, this time your lack of word power gets him blown up!

All you have to do is guess the word Mummy is thinking of, each time you get a letter correct, the relevent gaps are filled. Get a word wrong however and a stick of dynamite is put in one of the man's pockets - fill them all and it's goodbye man!

Chase the Troll/Go Troll

These two games are both card games.

Chase the Troll, is based on the popular Chase the Ace game. Where as Go Troll is based on Fish (which I've never personally heard of!). There's not much to say about these two other than they are competent implementations and are fun to play...

Overall

The four different game are varied enough and as a whole the package is excellent.

The games excel both graphically and sonically, with bright colourful screens and a large number of sampled sounds.

If you have a young child in your family (or if you're just young at heart!) then Mummies Playtime should be an excellent investment - even more so as it's free!
