Atari Times

Sorry if you're not the right person to send this to, in that case please pass it on.

AT looks like a neat disk magazine, so I d/led it to install it for off- line reading. However, it nearly drove me crazy ! Did you guys realize that there might be other filesystems where AT could be installed ?? Did you realize there are filesystems out there that distinguish between lower case and upper case letters in the filenames ? Apparently not, or what's the reason you used lower case for all the links in the HTML pages, but upper case for the actual filenames ! Of course, on a TOS filesystem this makes no difference, but already on Minix partitions users will start swearing at AT.

Similarly, although this appears to be some mistake made only once, the folder names in issue 11 : There is a folder called "ARTICLES." (note the trailing period), while the hypertext links only use "articles". Again this makes no difference on TOS filesystems, but does on any Unix-like one, like Minix etc. Same for "FREEBIES." in the same issue.

Cheers Peter

Hi Peter

Sorry for the problems this has caused you... I'll look into fixing it for future issues...

This is the first real problem someone has had with AT (if you dont count the Atari Times Mailing List disaster!)- it seems most people dont bother to report problems making it a lot harder to track them down. I actually only test AT with TOS and Windoze 95, and I never considered things would be different on Minix partitions.

Thanks for letting me know.
