Unfortunely the Color monitor I tried can't sync. with it so the screen just keep scrolling. Will try again with the monitor adjusted to see whether it works. And it won't boot from the 1040ST with TOS1.2 so probably it needs STE type machine. Puga) Subject: HP Laserjet IIIP To: Info-Atari16@naucse.cse.nau.edu What is involved in hooking up an HP Laserjet IIIP to my computer? Are there any features I would not be able to take advantage of? What about fonts? Will the new GDOS work well with it? I have Pagestream and WordPerfect (which both have drivers for Laserjets), how well do these work? What about the options for the printer (i.e. toner cartridges, font cards, memory upgrades, etc.)? Thanks in advance, Stephan A. To: Info-Atari16@naucse.cse.nau.edu Oops, I left out one quetion. Do these Mega-Demos use some sort of video mode that I am unaware of or something. I have to adjust my Vertical-Hold knob on my Multi-Sync monitor when I run most demos. This is not a complaint! I am just curious if I am missing out on a special video mode (I do a little Assembler dabbling myself). All the great demos come from Europe where the sync standard is different. While some software hack will let you display a PAL mode program, the monitors we have here in the US really aren't designed to use that mode, so you get vertical rolling and/or other problems (like flickering). A few demos I've seen have a command to toggle between modes however. _______________________________________________________________________________ __ I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, /// briefed, debriefed, or numbered. __ /// Only Amiga makes \\\/// it possible.....
