His two bulging eyes absorbed the flying hunks of metal that rushed along the concrete tracks. Francis wondered why humans hadn't yet learned how to use their legs. A gap in the traffic briefly appeared. Francis braced himself, about to make a lunge across the lanes but at the last moment a roar of a huge coca-cola van kept him firmly rooted to the grass. Some other frogs couldn't understand Francis's eagerness to cross the grey death channel, but his reasons were simple. It was said that the grass was always greener on the other side and he fancied a good smoke. He was also annoyed that chickens also got all the publicity about road crossing and he was sure that frogs were far more adept at it. The traffic growled angrily. Although Chris Rea had called the M25 'The Road To Hell' Francis wasn't convinced that it stopped at Swindon. Automobiles had all sorts of nasty connotations - there was the insipid 'funk-jam' of Steve Winwood's "Traffic". Nigel Mansell. Jeremy Clarkson. Francis wondered if you had to be terminally stupid to get a driving licence. It was time to become a toad-hog. Francis tensed the little froggy muscles in his powerful legs. Taking one reassuring gasp of fresh air he flexed his legs and began bounding towards the road. The first couple of lanes were clear. Ahead of Francis was a slow moving ambulance. 'Plenty of time' he reasoned and dashed in front of it just as the driver slammed his foot on the accelerator. As Francis's froggy shell met with the giant tyre of destiny a single word formed in his frustrated mind. If you set a frog to computer controlled will give him all the characteristics of a real frog. He basically dashes madly across the road with no idea of car motion, traffic flow etc. Chillingly accurate. Computer frogs may be simple but they are still bloody difficult to beat, especially on the easy setting. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - GAME MENU - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Here you can control various aspects of BUGGER! o PLAYERS One to Six players! o TIME Off - Game ends on LIVES or TARGET score Short - A quick bugger Medium - A relaxing bugger Long - A long hard bugger o LIVES Infinite - Game ends on TIME or TARGET score. It's as simple as Gazza! Directly opposite you in a large font is your current score. If playing in lives mode, then your lives will be displayed in a smaller font at your starting position. As with many RG games, bugger can be played in a number of ways: o AGAINST THE CLOCK If the TIME setting in the game menu is not off, you have to score as much as possible before the time runs out. When the clock is down to the last 15 seconds the score will begin flashing so now is the time to recklessly dash for some bonus points! o LIVES If lives are set to anything other than infinite than your frog can only be run over a set number of times. In this mode you have to be cautious especially if lives are low. The game ends when all frogs have lost all their lives. o TARGET SCORE If you set a target score in the game menu then the first frog to reach this score will be the winner! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - REQUIREMENTS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - o Atari/JTS/Hasbro Falcon030 o TV/RGB/VGA Monitor o Keyboard or Mouse or Jaguar Powerpad o Ability to avoid traffic - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CREDITS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Code & Design.......MrPink Graphics............sh3 Music...............sh3 [ Conversion of Patric C's "You're A Hero" ] DSP Replay..........Tat Stayed At Home......MSG Additional Design...Setok Additional Design...Arnel - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PACKAGES USED - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - o Pure C o Devpac o GodPaint o Graoumf Tracker o Pro Tracker o Pack-Ice! o PackCheck o MakeLink o ProText o ST-Zip - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CONTACT - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - mrpink_rg@hotmail.com sh3_rg@zetnet.co.uk msg_rg@hotmail.com ripley_rg@hotmail.com http://www.acs.bolton.ac.uk/~msg1css/maison.htm http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/zmoe3/three.htm Leon O'Reilly.
