  INTRODUCTION
 ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ
  You now have the first preview of New Beat Development's new platform game
  "Willie - The Adventurer" for the Atari Falcon030 in your hands.
  This early but playable preview features a small jungle world. It is all
  about helping Willie to find the Exit that is located at the very end of
  the level. All you need to do is follow the signs.

  No enemies or other creatures are included in this version, so there is
  nothing to worry about except for falling down. A second preview that will
  see the light before the commercial release of the game will include 
  enemies and a lot more. A demo version featuring an unique level will be
  out for the public at the same time as the commercial release.

  The sound system features eight channel 8bit/50KHz sound. Four of these
  channels are reserved for sound effects and the rest are used for music.
  It is possible to change the volume for sound effects and music
  individually. It can be done by entering the "Options" dialog in the game.
  Within the "Options" dialog it is also possible to turn on and off
  "Interpolation" and "Surround Sound".


  SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
 ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ
  o Atari Falcon030 with at least 4Mb of ST-RAM.
  o Colour monitor (VGA or RGB/TV).

  The game does not support the old "one button" joystick at all. It can only
  be controlled by using the keyboard or a Jaguar Joypad connected to port A.
  
  A hard drive is not needed, although the final version (and probably also
  the next preview) will require a harddrive to work.
  
  WARNING! The vertical synchronization frequency is set to 50Hz on both VGA
           and RGB/TV monitors. Some old VGA monitors may have trouble with
           this frequency, and some may even take damage.
           You should check the technical specifications of your monitor
           before trying to run the game. New Beat Development takes NO
           responsibility at all for damaged monitors.


  HOW TO CONTROL "WILLIE - THE ADVENTURER"

  The main character Willie can be controlled either by using the keyboard or
  a Jaguar Joypad connected to port A.
  
    Joypad: [LEFT] / [RIGHT]
  Keyboard: [CURSOR LEFT] / [CURSOR RIGHT] 

    o Used to control Willie, but also to increase and decrease music and
      sound effects volume in the "Options" dialog.

    Joypad: [UP] / [DOWN]
  Keyboard: [CURSOR UP] / [CURSOR DOWN]

    o Only used to move the cursor up and down in the "Options" dialog.

    Joypad: [OPTION]
  Keyboard: [O]

    o Takes you into the "Options" dialog.
  
    Joypad: [A BUTTON]
  Keyboard: [SPACE BAR]

    o Used to make Willie jump, but also to activate and deactivate functions
      in the "Options" dialog.
