- hurry ------------------------------- the invitation to the great Outline party in the year 2007! released just 1 day before the party! - requirements ------------------------ Atari Falcon030 with - 4MB RAM - RGB (recommended) - VGA (find the hidden key, haha!) movep alert, no handshaking for dsp: switch off accelerators!! - credits ----------------------------- 3d models: earx/lineout suzie cube/limp ninja code: earx/lineout footage: damo/reservoir gods graphics: havoc/lineout shifter/limp ninja suzie cube/limp ninja ideas: damo/reservoir gods earx/lineout music: 505/paradox - screens ----------------------------- 1. dithered bitmap scaler and vector layer 20-25 fps, 130 kbit/sec 320x200, 5 bitplanes no dsp 2. textured jeep 25 fps ~400 triangles 320x200, highcolor dsp 3. text displayer + 3d 50 fps 150 n-polys 320x200, 8 bitplanes dsp - info -------------------------------- it's a bit of a technology demonstrator and a first step towards the next falcon demo. it started with damo's ideas about using some oldschool footage of rc cars. also the vector layer was his idea. the interpolation layer is like that old 242 demo on a500. except this one is much more accurate. it would have probably been a more coherent prod with damo's design. but wtf, you gotta hurry and feed the atarians =) the truly fun part to code was the raster-to-vector algorithm which is not even in this intro but it's a tool in ansi c, hehehehe =) an idea sprang to life and with already the first revision of the code it gave nice results! =]] the textured 3d parts are actually a poly stream. it shouldn't have been with the amount of textures.. but hell, i wanted to use the routs some day.. the last part is a poor attempt to match nocrew's incredible stocasto screen. eventually we will kick their ass (i hope). anyway, you'll see all that in the source code eventually. - hurry hurry hurry hurry hurry hurry - .. and run it.
